Precision Valuation Services came about from a need to develop a valuation model suited to the individual characteristics of the Life Settlement market. Due to the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) adopting standards regarding Life Settlement Transactions (link to Standard), the development of a “Fair Value” valuation model was created. The individual characteristics of each policy are incorporated into the valuation model thereby creating specific valuation criteria unique to each policy. This approach results in a consistent approach to valuation over a pool or fund of policies with individual characteristics influencing each policy’s valuation rather than a single mortality calculation for all policies within the pool or fund. |
